Sleety showers in Castlebar. 4 degrees. Winds not as strong but very blustery in showers.

Nice snow shower here for the past few minutes, although dew points are set to rise over the coming hours in the south, so make the most of it. :)

    That GIF is freaky!

Seriously though, anything in low res GFS is only meant to give a rough idea of the weather in store, and even then its usually wrong! Even though those charts are very good for snow and cold over Ireland, expect them to change massively in subsequent runs and, dare I say it, expect a downgrade.

As they say over on Netweather, don't be lead up the garden path!

No snow in the Tralee area. Just a miserable sky and very windy. Any chance of seeing any??

Todays 12z shuts down the Atlantic and shows more of a eastern influence. The Atlantic lows are not bombing in. There slowing and look to be either heading south or been rebuffed back west.

    Look East.:D

Of course it's very unlikely. With something as marginal as that, a few miles north or south can make a huge difference. I wouldn't get my hopes up until I saw some consistency. Still, it's nice to see the possibilities.
It's not in the low res part of the model though, it's only 5 days out.

Heavy hail starting up in Tralee. Very snowy sky out there though!

  • Registered Users Posts: 932 ✭✭✭snowstorm445

Really heavy falls here now. First decent spell of snow all winter. A shame it isn't a bit colder. :)
