Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

is it legal for a publican to sell 300ml bottles of beer instead of the standard 330ml?. The boxes of beer you buy in supermarkets(300ml) for about 70cent-1euro a bottle are being sold in pubs and customers being charged 4.50 a bottle, just curious is this legal?

They can serve whatever size bottles that they wish to, yes. The only control over sizes sold is that drinks served by a specific measure, such as pints or spirits, need to be served by glasses or dispensers that have been calibrated by NSAI. The manufacturer of the product are also examined to ensure that what they say is in a bottle is that amount.

As regards selling those bottles, if they are sourced from within the State then it is fine subject to the relevant invoices being in order and all taxes and excises are being paid. It is illegal for alcohol to be imported for commercial use without an importers licence; I mention this before anybody else mentions same.
