Internet on new laptop ridiculously slow

So I got a new laptop today. It's a Lenovo Ideapad U410. It works fine except for the internet. Browsing is incredibly slow and very sporadic. Every other device connected to the wireless network works just fine with no problems so I'm confused as to why my new laptop won't work. I have updated all of the drivers and installed all windows updates but the internet continues to be slow.

I can access the internet just fine using an ethernet cable so obviously the problem is between my router and my wireless adapter. Any help would be appreciated!

If you google you will this appears to be an issue with your laptop unfortunately.

It would appear that way. Although from reading a lot of those links it say laptops manufactured before July 23rd 2012 have the issue. Surely a laptop that was purchased yesterday couldn't have been manufactured over a year ago?

It was Intel. I read that although machines manufactured after 23/7/12 shouldn't be faulty, a lot of them still are. Lenovo apparently refuses to acknowledge the problem. Hopefully PC World will when I bring the laptop back tomorrow....
