Twitter is going mad at the moment, reports of an armed man on the loose after a botched robbery and helicopter, gardai and the army involved in the search.

    Anybody know anything?

From what i've gathered it was a botched robbery on a businessman. Shots fired apparently and two in custody. People are saying possible third gunman or else they are just searching for the guns used. Helicopter is still flying above anyway(can see it from Togher). Fair play to the Gardaí if they have caught them.

*edit. Helicopter just passed my house heading back to Airport i'd assume.

There's only one, it appears to be gone now though.

Armed robbery caught in the act?

    I doubt it...

    Well, I hope not anyway.

I didn't know the gardai in cork had a helicopter. Heard it overhead last night and assumed it was coastguard.

Glad it was some use anyway, good for them!

Somebody was caught in Glanmire village last night, the helicopter was over for a few minutes and then I heard a lot of Gardai shouting for someone to get down on the ground, sounded really frightening.
I think it was near the AIB bank, I was too lazy to go out and have a look.
