What is she going to do? Ie are you looking for someone to look after the kids a few hours after school ends and before you come home, or do you have three kids not yet in school and she's needed 40 hours a week and deal with diapers etc, or the same thing but with the mother present and she's be a Mothers Helper? Will you want her to do the kids' meals and light cleaning or no?

Sorry She would be looking after 3 boys , 2 Will be in school and pre-school from 830 -1pm and are generally in afterschool activities afterwards. we also would have a 8 month she would need to be looking after from 830 till 5pm . 5 days a week weekends and evening are free etc.

My wife is trying to get part time but work has not yet agreed to it . since it is our first time with an Au-Pair we really are not sure what to offer her . very light house work would be included no cooking bar feeding the 8 month all other meals would be looked after by us .

when you say Au Pair I am assuming you mean a young person (usually a foreign student) who will live in your home? This being the case you provide bed & board and 'pocket money'. What that amount is is up to you, but you would of course have to take into account what area you live in and cost of basic social activities.

If not, and you want more of a childminder in your own home then you have to properly employ them and you have to pay minimum wage and PRSI for them, give them holidays etc just like any boss.
