New iPods in September?

Hi everyone. This is my first time in the Apple forum so apologies if this has already been discussed.

I've been saving for months and I've almost got enough to buy an iPod touch 5th Gen (an iPhone is completely out of my reach).

But I know September is when each years new iPods etc are released. Does anyone know if any new iPods are expected this September?

I already have my heart set on the iPod 5th Gen, hopefully with iOS 7, I'm just wondering if there's going to be a newer version released (and possibly therefore a bit of a price drop for the 5 gen!) anyone heard anything?

problem with the 5th gen when the 6th gen comes out, the 5th gen will be only available in 16gb. that being said with the likes of google music, spotify and rdio the internal storage is less relevant.

new ipods usually come out just before americans go back to college, usually september.

there's an apple event confirmed for the 10th of September so I'd say we're looking at the 3rd week in September for new iPhone/iPod touch

Really?? Isn't there a window there where I could pick up a 5gen that's already been produced (and possibly sold to a 3rd party retailer eg Harvey Norman, compub etc)?

When I figured out that Home Sharing was supported on the 5gen I planned to save a few €€ by buying the 16gb, after all my iTunes library is too big for the 160gb classic

but the 16gb iPod touch is actually missing several elements of functionality compared to the 32gb so for me it's not worth saving the few quid

yep I always knew August was a dumb time to buy a new iPod (or a good time to sell your old one, if you can:pac:) but while I know there'll be a new iPhone I'm not sure what's happening on the iPod front

Yes you could but chances are it will be the same price. What do you mean the 16gb is missing several functions? I thought they were all the same other than the storage.

the current 16gb from apple is previous generation ipod technology. doesn't have the camera loop and the nice coloured backs.
