Anybody got good recommendations for a catering company in limerick/Clare region? For a christening. Nothing too fancy. Simple cold salad buffet, chicken goujons etc for 50 people.

    Thanks mackes.
Just had a look on their website there. They are very reasonable. It was more cold salad buffet ie: sliced meats with bowls of salad (coleslaw, potato salad etc) I was looking for but it seems to be really expensive.
Crowd I used last year were far more reasonable but they must be gone - no info anywhere! May have to go for finger food after all.

They do have catering service and it's supposed to be very good. At least it was a couple of years ago.

Bobby Byrne's stuff looks good and it's not as expensive as it looks. All the services like them tend to be on the average of 10 euros per person. You might find others a bit cheaper on the 7 euros range, but they won't offer that much.

If you want something with a selection of salads and maybe some finger food the Centras and Spars usually are good and should not be very expensive, less than the 10 euros per person. I second the suggestion about the Spar in Henry Street it's good and they have a great selection.

If you want something sweet there are a few places with stuff that might add a little bit of sugar to the menu.
    • One place with a good selection of cupcakes, cakes and desserts is FineThings in Arthur's Quay. Their prices are very reasonable and the cupcakes are very good.
    • Another place is Quigley's in CruisesStreet. They also offer some catering (sandwiches) but I don't know about their prices.

Some sweets for children and stuff for them at Mr Duffy's Traditional Sweet Shop. Obviously they don't do catering but you can get the final touch in there and it looks they have nice things not available anywhere else. Don't know about prices either in this case but you don't need to spend too much there either.

HTH and let us know how it went and if the food was nice. It's handy to have reviews.
