New printer, would like to refill ink

I'm in the market for a new all-in-one printer. I have searched and read similar queries but am posting a new thread to be more specific to me.

Can all ink cartridges be refilled? I've heard something about a 'chip' in newer cartridges that makes them unsuitable for refilling. Is that the case?

I'd like to be able to refill myself. I used a Tesco refill kit successfully with my previous Dell printer.

Would separate colour cartridges be better than the all in one? I wouldn't like to have to refill the whole cartridge if only one colour runs out. Saying that, I don't print much in colour (due to cost). Are all Epson cartridges the separate colour ones or do other brands do the three colour cartridges too?

My budget is low, about the 50 mark, could extend if it would be better value. I've been looking at these

I don't have wireless internet, only a USB dongle so wireless is not suitable. However, looks like I'd have to buy a USB cable anyway as printers don't seem to come with them, at least not what I'm looking at (prob why price is cheaper on first glance, bit like Ryanair!).

If anyone has recently bought a printer, I'd appreciate any help/advice, why you chose it etc..

Not sure it is any help over the years I have seen quite a few problems on printers using generic cartridges and refills. Like printers that have used refills suddenly stop accepting them or have print issues. I have had poor printouts due to refills or generic cartirdges, problems with calibration and all sorts. I am just getting to old perhaps but I just can do without the hassle and so buy only branded kit and consequently have had no problems with printing for years.
