Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He's getting this chance whether we like it or not. (And most of you know where I stand on the issue!) but here's hoping that if he doesn't make a case for it then he's not given too many more of them in the first 23.

I hear that he's done very well in training & that hes expected to start a lot more this season, esp as Murray will be wrapped in cotton wool.

The problem with Williams is that he's had plenty of chances at this stage and he's proved that he's not good enough. His mistakes cost us points last season. At 27 I can't see him improving. I do feel sorry for the guy because he should never have been given a 2 year contract. Sheridan deservedly overtook him at the end of last season.

As things go he hasn't really had that many.

Before last season he'd only had 8 starts.

That should more or less apply to any player.

Williams is fine as third choice. Hurley may even bypass him on the bench at times as he can kick goals.

Probably won't make a difference as your out half will almost always be either Keatley or Hanrahen, both of whom are fine placekickers.

Fourth choice this season I'm thinking. Gerry Hurley offers more than Williams as we know him. He's got to come out flying tomorrow to stand a chance

Missing the friendly this evening :-( was so looking forward to getting back to live rugby.

Hope all the lads have a good run and while the result isn't a huge matter it's always nice to win your home games.

Don't about getting them at the gate prior to the match but there was a ticket office open in Thomond Park since nine this morning, as I say I don't know will it continue right up to KO.

Think you can buy tickets at the kiosk outside Dolphin side before the match.
Keep an eye on the Munster site....

Lashing rain in Limerick at the moment, not a great evening for a preseason game. Hope it clears off before KO.

Nice play out of Dineen and LLL, but the winger is tackled into touch just before the tryline.

Conway trying to run off a knock.

Chip through from Cowan, Johne Murphy fumbles the ball and a Gloucester player pounces on the loose ball to score.

5-0 Gloucester poor try to concede

Lovely crosskick from Keatley, Conway catches and dots down in the corner.

Conway has to then go off gingerly.

    Keatley converts: 7-5

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,257 ✭✭✭Hagz

Haha, they aint half trying to get the ball into Conway's hands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,608 ✭✭✭Newtown90

Try for Conway but he is substituted... Keats kicks the conversion!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    ROH is on for Conway

Conway's hamstring 'heavily strapped' according to Twitter.

Great handling from LLL, but it comes to nothing in the end. Conditions aren't exactly ideal.

Thanks for the updates lads, much appreciated.

Keatley looking composed at 10, varying his game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,608 ✭✭✭Newtown90

Keatley defiantly varying it a lot more, some nice dinky kicks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Nice combination from LLL and Sonny Bill Hurley, unfortunately the grubber goes dead

LLL with a kick into the corner, he is running the attack nicely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Good break by Dineen, he feeds LLL who puts Hurley over the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Converted by Keatley. 14-5

How is the guy currently wearing our 9 jersey doing?

Looks to be quite a decent turnout for a preseason in ****e weather. Probably better than anything the soccer pulled in over the summer?

    Alright.

    Not easy in sloppy conditions

Sheridan is on for the second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,608 ✭✭✭Newtown90

Lot of changes for 2nd half!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Unreal finish from Gloucester fullback, burned the defence on his own to score in the corner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Missed conversion: 14-10

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

JJ grubbers through, unfortunately Dineen slips when trying to gather.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,420 ✭✭✭✭athtrasna

Is Sheridan on now if JJ is?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,608 ✭✭✭Newtown90

    JJ converting his own try!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Nice step and finish from a few metres out for JJ. He also converts.

Coughlan coming off after receiving treatment, Stander back on.

Gloucester had a try chance after Munster lost the ball in their 22. Came to nothing after a grubber went dead.
