Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ok , I was stopped eleven days ago doing around 20 km over the speed limit , guard took details and instructed me to pay the fine within 56 days and also to produce licence , insurance etc at local station

the official dine details arrived today but my first - Christian name is missing

lets say the name on my birth cert is Michael john smith but ive always been known as john smith , well the fine is addressed to Michael smith

my question is this , were I not to pay and instead go to court , would that technicality get me off

no pious lectures about how I shouldn't have been speeding please

    thanks

Would it not be just better to pay the fine. Getting a solicitor to go to court and get you off on your "technicality" will probably cost you more than the fine. And then if you don't get off with it you'll going to have to pay the solicitor and the fine which will also go up.

If your name on the licence is Michael smith i dont see the technicality.

You said "lets say the name on my birth cert is Michael john smith but ive always been known as john smith , well the fine is addressed to Michael smith"

Well if your name on your birth cert is Michael Smith, and they served Michael Smith I don't see any issue. But if you want to try it work away.
