Samsung Galaxy Mini - data full

Having trouble with my Samsung Galaxy mini atm, keeps saying I've low internal phone storage - I've only 9mb free on the phone and 777mb on sd card but can't transfer most of my apps to that for some reason. Also saying I cant receive texts even though I deleted loads of texts. Any idea how to fix this?
