Just wondering does anyone know what it is, it comes from the duplexes opposite south side of the crescent.

It sounds like a loud beep or a chirp.

It's been there for years but I've never figured out what it is!

    Anyone any ideas?

It's the residents that do not pay their management fees. They also stand at the end of your bed and watch you sleep.

It's the bush eaters moving in.

It's probably the swingers communicating :P:D

Possibly an unoccupied (or occupied) dwelling with fault on their burglar alarm system. Might also be a flat or missing backup battery in a smoke detector.

Sorry to suck the fun out of the thread!:D

We hear it too! Been going on so long tho I didn't think it'd be a faulty battery on an alarm cause surely someone would notice if it was theirs. Not sure- maybe some sort of bird repellant alarm. All I can think of.

    and?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Heard the beep - it sounds like an audible 'chirp' when there's a fault with the intruder alarm.

Its a cat siren..to deter cats..they have a weird sound.. as if they are an alarm starting...first second sounds like its going to be a fully fledged siren alarm but fades quickly into a beep
