Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Must get a ipod for the wifes birthday but we both dont know what is the main difference between 4th and 5th generation of ipod touch, and is ipod touch a better option than ipod nano.

She had seen princes of 5th gen and thinks its too much to spend but prices for 4th seem cheaper but we have no idea what is the main difference between the 4th and 5th gen ipod touch ? What GB would be recommended to get ?

5th Gen is in my opinion one of the greatest iPods ever made. These days the camera mightn't be considered all that much but it's still pretty high quality video recording. Interface is lovely, syncing is really easy and if you have a set of headphones with in line controls, you have access to spoken playlists. 5th Gen is a classic.

Main difference between the two is the size and design. The 4th Gen uses the same design it has for the past few years. The 5th Gen has a larger 4" screen and also uses a new design, the first major change since it was introduced.

Not only that but the 5th Gen gets the latest software update so I'd urge you to pay the extra and get the 5th Gen, it's bigger, better looking, faster and has a much better camera. And you'll get iOS 7 in the next few weeks as well as the possibility as future updates.

I'd highly recommended it. The 16GB iPod 5th Gen was also introduced that has no camera but is lower priced, so maybe that could be a nice compromise. Hopefully it doesn't get confusing, as there is two seperate models, one with the camera and one without.

In case you missed the significance of that statement, the 4th gen models won't run iOS7 so if you buy one, as soon as there is a move by app developers to exploit the features of iOS7 you will find that you cannot upgrade to the latest version of apps.

Normally a new version of the OS would run on the current and one previous generation, this time they have dropped the 'n-1' support so I wouldn't buy a 4th gen model for that reason alone.
