    Hi all,

Having great friends over for dinner Sat night and I'm looking for some inspiration! One of my friends is a really good cook but is very easy-going. Nevertheless I'd like to present something "decent". As they are such good friends I am ideally looking for something I can prepare in advance and pull out of the oven, rather than spending the evening over the cooker. The dishes I am currently toying with are Beef Bourguignon, Coq au Vin (blanc) or roast leg of lamb. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks!
    Loire.

This takes a bit of prep beforehand but it delicious and ready to serve straight from the oven with some rice/couscous...

Why not collaborate with your friend?

Extend your friendship with something in common, cooking.

Have some fun together, make a day of it.

A few wines will help things along, no matter what the meal.

    Hi Smeggy,

I've been meaning to try one of these so that's a perfect idea. Sorted!

    Thanks,

good cooks always appreciate a good Beef Bourguignon so that's what I would do. Get your butcher to cut the meat in nice big portions and brown well first. Do you have a potato ricer as you need very creamy and pureed potatoes to serve with it.
