I dunno why people are so very defensive of the servers. If any other online game crashed this badly on day 1 people would rip into it from all sides.

Created my character at lunch, Didn't see any John Marston parent. Very weird system, my guy doesn't look very white even though I picked the whitest grandparents. Anyway, didn't know what hours to put into what but my driving skill is fairly good from the off. Class t-shirt with the Boards-ie emblem on my back.

Started a game, cannot connect, please try later. oh well.

To anyone with other crews, the leader or members should make an emblem if ye don't have one. Class seeing the Irish flag with the Boards avatar in-game.

True. I actually thought you would have just had to pick your parents and then not find out what you looked like til after. Would have been harsh but interesting.

Although I usually hate proper in depth character creation tools, I actually wouldn't have minded doing it for GTA.

Playing solo because I can't connect to any server, and when I go back to single player and then back into online, it corrupts my character. Twice.

Christ, they have had 2 weeks to gauge how its gonna do. Even that was stupid.

Imagine if this happened with COD or battlefield and they launch online straight away.

Only played a few hours with it but some of the other beta testers said it was a bit slow from levels 5-20 but gets really good after that

I had to load a previous save I had made last night to be able to change character again

You can't do much in solo mode, most stuff needs to be played connected even if it's a 1 player capable game.

Mine was corrupted twice, so yes, probably.

had the same, press square and you'll get random and be able to control both parents afterwards.

Is there any benefit in carrying over your single player character to multiplayer.
I've been playing with an offline character for a while now but if I want to play online, is there any draw back from starting from scratch?
I I'll lose imagine the skills I've developed in game and my money wont be carried across.

I keep selecting the online in the character wheel and the screen just goes black. I doubt this online is going to work right for sometime. You'll have all the yanks going online later at night.
