Fired up the console and downloaded the update. Headed to 'online' and all that's highlighted is Crews, Choose Character and Play GTA Online.

When I select 'Chose Character' I get asked if I want to quit GTA V.

Looks like I will have to wait for a while.

My Rockstar Social Club membership is acting up too.

I'm 51% through. Just finished the fib raid. When I got to meet Dave after, I walk into the yellow marker and nothing happens. Even none of the side missions are starting.

All since the update. One thing with the servers but I'm not playing through all that again. So unless my sp is fixed I'll be hanging up my GTA glove.

I started the GTA V Online, and i created my avatar for the game. I then started it. It opened to an Introduction, with my avatar entering Lamar's car. He drove me to this race, and i got out of the car, when i walk over to start the race, it opens on a screen with a city in the background, saying "WAITING FOR OTHER PLAYERS" Please help, iv'e been trying to start this for nearly 2 hours.

We have all been experiencing similar issues, best just leave it for a couple of hours

furthest i got was making my character, then just times out when loading the actual online part. Meh, i'll go back to story mode! I've just unlocked yoga :P

On PS3 btw, which seems to be having the most issues.

I've been getting that the last hour,
but I have now managed to get to the blue ring area where you can see the other players joining, but going to single player,
and use the d pad to select your online character instead of selecting online through the start menu.

when I done it, it didnt go to the city screen.

This has just happened me too. Time to download bf4 beta and let GTA settle. I don't want to corrupt my single player file

I got to the intro turned the xbox off and on and it didn't time out the next time.

Edit: now I'm looking at an empty car park

I think they are lucky they are rockstar.

If this happened with any other big game such as fifa cod bf the internet would melt.
