Not really, it has for some people alright but it seems to be more or less the same for the majority

Guys just an update, tried again with solo play...took a good 5 mins to load the first race but now it seems to be fine!

tried again myself ive been waiting ages myself, it actually shows loading at the bottom so must be a good thing

Finished the first race on solo which is an improvement but its frozen on the satellite view again (just before it zooms in) ..It's strange cause I can hear random pedestrians talking!

A couple of questions lads:

1) Is it true that playing online will corrupt save game data from single player?

2) Are the casinos and race track open online? I was disappointed that they weren't available from the off in single player, but searching online I saw people suggesting they were holding off to introduce them with the online content.

1, a couple people have reported that problem but ok for the majority I think.

2, I don't know, seems like a lot of stuff is locked until you progress further into the game.

Its happened me. I reloaded my save twice and I still couldnt progress. The only way I managed to like swap characters etc was when my current character received a call luckily enough.

Check the top of the gta forum here, there is a list of crews and the links so you can pick one and request an invite.

Right, I got the intro, first race and first mission and although I can hear other players chatting in the lobby, I'm stuck on the zoomed out screen, no loading or anything so I presume that's it.

TBF it was enjoyable enough when I actually got it, just a pity it's not more reliable.

What i would say try do lads , if your having issues , go to single player , menu > online > solo play. And just try rank up a bit alone so your ready to go when this is all fixed . If you can even do that ofc but id say its easier than trying to join others

I tried this but still stuck on the tutorial mission so it tells you to go to the car park for the race

I'm in now ps3 started solo done a few missions now in a map with about 10 random players

Yes, whatever you do in a solo session counts towards all your online stats. There just won't be any other human players on your map.

It's exactly the same as Online Private Mode in Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer.

Got in first go tonight, got through the tutorial and did a few missions. One standout one was where we had to rob evidence from a dirty cop and get it back to a base, but the other team was trying to do the same. Cue epic carnage!

Fingers crossed all my progress is saved.

Well, after no luck at all yesterday, I managed to play a bit of solo online, and even have someone invite me to a race! It decided to load aimlessly for half an hour after that, but still its progress!

Same happened me today, quitting the game and opening it again put me straight back into the world for a new mission.

Online not working for me at all tonight.

After getting to connect again it deleted my character, but left me with this this weird sinead o Connor lookalike. He had no stats at all and could hardly run or anything.

I got in and all seemed to be working fine.

Except that I was the only one there. Did the first few standard missions and robbed a few stores to get myself used to what's going on. But with no one else in the game, hit a roadblock as I couldn't progress any further.

I'd say I connected fine 75% of the time, couldn't always join people or them to me, but honestly lads, when it works.. it's ****ing brilliant! Can't wait till we get some full lobbies of Boardsies going.

I think my character is brown bread. Or at least deleted from the servers, like. I think he woke up from the Matrix and ran off to be in a wrestling game as one of the unknowns, or something. I wish him all the best.
