remote controls are over-rated. You need a biddable kid with nimble fingers to go change the channel manually. Mine are getting less biddable year on year....I might soon need a remote..

Try saying a prayer to Saint Anthony. That's what my mother used to say. But Saint Anthony could never find it for me either

Where you last left it, according to the advice my mother always gave me when looking for something.

My mum used to say that. But she was the one that was always moving my stuff.

I'd leave my wallet on a shelf and it would be put into some random drawer in the kitchen.

There is a tried and tested method of changing channels without the remote control....
1 Stand up from the couch

    2 Walk over to T.V

3 Press channel control button till the required station appears on screen

4 Go back and sit down again

This method has always worked in the past.

Depends on whether the púca takes the form of a horse, a goat or a rabbit.

You could try feeding them beans.

but as they have no stomachs, this will lead to beans-on-ghost

The púcas are great chefs, according to folklore. Not too sure if beans-on-ghost will win them over, but then again you never know.....

A púca (pooka) is a shapechanger or shapeshifter in Irish folklore. They are very mischievious. They can be good or bad. They like to play jokes on people - like a naughty child.

so long as they stick to naughty children thats fine, tell them keep away from the rest of us.;)

Smiles, they act like naughty children playing jokes on adults.

    Be afraid, be very afraid!

They spit on black berries too. You can't gather black berries after they do that.

If you ever lose something grab a kitchen towel or something similar, tie a knot, swing it around your head and tell the pooka you'll untie their balls when they give the object back.

    Works every time. :D
