I was wondering is it possible to get broadband only with Eircom? or is it a requirement to install a home phone even if this would be unused

A phone line is indeed required for eircom broadband. Please contact eircom sales on free phone 1800503303 to explore your options and discuss an plan that is suitable to your requirements.
