I know it is late - but is there any place in South Dublin or Dublin in general that specialises in Dahlias or has a good selection of plants available - was in a couple of garden centres and they had very little. Thanks.

Was out in Howth earlier today buying some plants in Howth Garden Centre....(just before the Dart station).
They have some lovely Dahlias for sale at the moment....(2 litre and bigger 5 litre pots)....and they also have a nice selection of plants and flowers.

    Hope this helps you.:)

Thanks Paddy - I am other side of city - Terenure - but will head out on weekend if nothing else turns up on here - I am sure I was in that centre before when I was out there buying a few fish .. just around the corner.

Yep,used car dealership, then Howth Garden Centre, then the Dog Grooming shop, then The DogHouse Cafe, then The Bloody Stream Pub and then the Dart Station.

Around the corner from the dart station are the various fish shops:)

When Im out in Howth doing some shore angling,I sometimes pop into the garden centre on my way back home to buy a few plants for the front and back garden.

Cheers Paddy - You should be on the payroll of the Howth Tourist Board!

Anyway, I made my way over there today and picked up a few nice ones along with a load of bedding plants.

For information: I did not need that many because I had already been advised by a neighbour that Aldi had Dahlias for €5.99 ... so I made my way to a couple of their stores and got a nice mix of colours - great value.

They look like good healthy plants and there was still a good few left as I was leaving, if anybody is interested.
