No idea the time probably around 2 and think munster council van would usually be there and charge around 5 euro to get in! Wrap up well! Cold spot

Full Time Senior Hurling Challenge Waterford 2-24 Dublin 3-13.

Wtd Team Keeffe S Fives, Coughlan Bourke, Mahony, Brick, Moran, Nagle, Barron, Breathnach, Barrett, R Barry B Sullivan Maurice, R Donnelly

Some subs used Stephen Molumphy, Jake Dillon, Kieran Power, Gavin O Brien

    Scores - Maurice 1-12 (10f), Molumphy 0-3 Brian O'Sullivan 1-0, Dillon, Barron 0-2 each, Fives, Barry, Donnelly, Power, O Brien 0-1 each.

Good to see some good scoring levels on what must have been an awful day to play hurling

Thanks , but they were not there when I posted, even taking into account that it was only a challenge not bad scoring on a rough day,

Who are the lads playing on Sunday?

I believe Ryan Donnelly is playing well?

Playing UL on Sunday next 12th January. 1st round of Waterford Crystal cup.

A challenge against UCC is also fixed for this week, not sure of date/venue yet.

Great thanks. If anybody knows date/venue for the UCC game can they let me know?

Lads, there must be 40-50 on the panel at the moment? You have the u21 lads, Ryan Donnelly, Kieran Power, Tom Devine, DJ Foran, Seamus Keating, Tadhg Bourke, Colin Dunford, Aussie Gleeson, Micheal Harney, Stephen Bennett and I'm definately forgetting a few there. Then you have the 30 + Senior players that are training aswel.
Great to see Steve Molumphy and Philip Mahony back in action, if we could keep the same panel and promote 5 or 6 lads from the minor in the next couple of years it would be great to see, exciting times ahead!

Its brilliant that the talent is around. Remember between 1997 and 2001 we had the bare 15 and if somebody got injured we had very little quality on the bench

Even during Justins time the depth wasn't great. There werent many options when guys were injured or playing poorly.

On the other side of that, we don't have many Ken McGraths, John Mullanes and Paul Flynns on the team now either.

Good workout yesterday in terrible conditions. Interesting was the work rate and support play from the Waterford players,it was encouraging to watch. Hard to judge so early in the season but definitely it was nice to see Jamie Barron moving so well aided by Maurice and Ray Barry in the forward line. Molumphy will definitely be a hugh addition, adding a wealth of experience to the younger fellas on the squad. Nagle looked sharp aswell and Phillip O Mahony looked like he will have a big part to play this year. Socky had better days between the sticks but as i said earlier it is unwise to be judging so early when players are in pre-season training and the hurling wouldn't be up to speed yet.
Tom Devine did well when introduced also so a few positives can be taken from it but lets not lose the run of ourselves it's only January after all!!

is Steven Daniels still injured? He's supposed to be going to Australia soon enough so I presume that's him gone for the season?

Hes not expected to be right until june at the earliest so how fit he would be at that stage is hard to say. It was a terrible injury he got. If hes thinking of heading away then maybe thats the writing on the wall for this season aswell.

People understate what a loss for dls he was last season aswell

According to a mail sent out by Club Deise, that UCC game is tomorrow night in Fraher Field around 7pm.

What's the story with players in these competitions, the colleges get first choice of the county players don't they? For example will Paudie Mahoney be with UCC tomorrow night etc? (I'm assuming he's still in UCC).

Yere footballers beat limerick in a challenge yesterday in limerick 1-14 to 2-7.

And that was without paul whyte who played with ul in the mcgrath cup.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,293 ✭✭✭Deise_2012

Yeah colleges have first choice tomorrow! Paudies with WIT, you'll have Jamie Barron, Shane Roche, Darragh Fives with UCC tomorrow presuming their fit to play!

Munster Council Website says its 2pm in WIT on Sunday. Munster Council PRO is top class at his job doing twitter, facebook, website etc and would go with what he says rather than Club Déise.
