Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have Mignolet, Toure and Sturridge in my fantasy league team - top of the league!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,342 ✭✭✭Ardent

Mignolet will get lots of plaudits and rightly so. Special mention to Toure though - didn't put a foot wrong all game!

Liverpool fans find their voice with 1 minute to go and a goal up.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart for your'll never walk alone

Almost faultless. He was pulling the jersey off one of the Stoke players while in his own box. Should have been a peno to them. Other than that, he was quality.

I think talk of Fantasy Football should be kept for a different thread.

    This is an LFC thread.

How can you possibly think about Fantasy Football when a game is on ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Liverpool played well, it was impressive for the vast majority of the game but still signs of weakness, didn't kill off the game with a second goal and then a moment of madness almost cost them at the end. I know the talk has been of Liverpool pushing for top 4 but I just cant see it happening this season.

Great game - fantastic result :D

For me though the most positive thing from it was the way we didn't sit back after we went ahead and invite them to score like we've done sooo often in the past.

    And what a save/debut! :)

Liverpool and Arsenal were in for him supposedly, price too high, apparently Stoke looking for £15m+?

I think Toure is going to be loved at Anfield. Big heart.

See him there tearing up the field trying to get into the box

he was pretty solid today and broke up play too... Unlucky with his header and I think he'll get a couple of goals for us this season..

Have to save our corners were much better also... 3pts get in!!!!!!

I agree at least one of his two acts warranted some punishment.

What's the story with hitting posts though. You could say it's poor shooting but it's so ****en unlucky to do it so much. It's bizzare it happens so much.

Can't blame them for wanting top money. Still think he was the main reason for Stoke staying up last year. They'd have been relegated without him. Super keeper.

How did Henderson not score a hat trick in that game? He improved a lot in the second half, fair play to him.

On an even brighter note, now that Begovic is out of the way, it should be a piece of píss to beat the rest...:pac:

First game of the season and goalkeeper on opposing side gets motm, Liverpool still win.

    All good signs. :):D

Good game, though it would have been nice for more than one goal, everyone looked well, Mignolet looked nervous at the start and did a few silly things but the second half he was great, great save for the peno as well

Fair play to Coutinho, showed balls and didn't back down. Hope to see the same steel throughout the team this season.

    You weren't watching ?

They lost 1-0. Could have been 6-0 only for their Keeper.

Wasn't impressed by Henderson. Apart from the shot that Begovic tipped onto the post, I was overall disappointed with him. Aspas should have been left on and Henderson off for Sterling. Also felt Sterling offered us nothing off the bench today that Aspas wasn't providing. The link up between Aspas, Countinho & Sturridge was fantastic to watch.

Well it's kinda easy to stand up to someone when you're playing in a match with cameras on you. Not gonna get knocked out.

Henderson improving all the time, how he isn't in that England squad before Cleverley is beyond me.

That would make very little tactical sense, 4 attacking players, 2 midfielders

Honestly doesn't bother me at all. Hardly riveting stuff, but then again I can't think of any riveting co-commentators.

You would think so but I've seen plenty of players run away after they've started something with another player.
