Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Arsenal not exerting enough control over the game, they look very loose at the back too.

    Omg another injury.

Can we sub Gibbs back on if Sanga has to go off!!

The suspense is killing me, what happened???

Through ball played behind arsenal line, Sczesney comes out of his box to clear and loops it into the air.....he has to challenge Benteke 30 yards out for the header as it comes down......falls to a Villa player who tries to lob him as he scrambles back into his goal, he manages to tip it wide for a corner.

    Mad stuff.

Players are gonna go straight to the ground every time they are touched.

Ref is giving too many niggley fouls

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,216 ✭✭✭Looper007

Why didn't ye buy Butland for 6m?!

    We need experience not youth.

He looks like the only player looking like he's willing to try. Chamberlin and Wilshire are the others.

It villa fouling at every possible opportunity. Real scrappy game. And the ref isn't helping

    Nope.

Why not? He has been solid as a rock for Stoke for a good while now.

Well it's deja vu from last season.

    Nope.

tbh I rate Szcesney but Begovic would be a good signing for any side and i'd much prefer to be up against Szcesney than him as a Villa fan

Not saying he is a bad player but like I'd say 50% of Arsenal fans I have a lot of faith in Szcez ok that was lunacy but entertaining as fcuk :D, and the peno I'd put the blame on the defence not the goalkeeper.

People are and always have been far to quick to blame a goalkeeper.

It's a bad sign when Gabby is making your defence look stretched.

    Any recipes?

All you lads and your recipes. Sky, BT, and Setanta here. Sporting Nirvana even if the commentary is crap. :P

tbh Gabby is one of the fastest players going and big and strong. He might not be the best player in the world but on the counter he is the exact type of player to stretch a defense

Ye need quality more than experience.

If he was that good he would have been snapped up by a bigger club mate.

He's actually the fastest footballer in the world without the ball at his feet. It's been measured. No shame in him leaving most footballers for dead.

Awful stuff from Arsenal so far. I ain't seen anything that's looks like a improvement from last season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,813 ✭✭✭lertsnim

This referee is absolutely shocking. Cannot see how that is a yellow for anybody.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,435 ✭✭✭wandatowell

That yellow is a bit harsh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,748 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

    This ref, wow.

wtf why was Luna yellow carded there, he was the one fouled if anyone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

    Hahah Delph :D

Luna yellow card, wtf? It was a collision

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,503 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

How the hell does Luna get booked there  It shouldn't even be a free

That shouldn't a yellow for the Villa player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,216 ✭✭✭Looper007

So stop and start this game. I wouldn't be surprised one of our players will join Gibbs on the injury table. Villa look comfortable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

This referee is completely out of his depth. He just booked Luna for having the temerity to let Oxlade Chamberlain kick him in the chest. Great reffing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭Marty McFly

Strange yellow, don't see how that was a card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,598 ✭✭✭smilerf

I'm sure alot of ye will say oh he's young inexperienced etc but imo szesney is rubbish get fab on. Less erratic

Half time good, the ref needs a break

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,791 ✭✭✭✭JPA

    Fairly action packed half.

In fairness they kicked each other and neither got the ball ;). It just shouldn't have been a yellow card or a free kick for either side.

Sagna, Walcott and Ox limping, can our squad get any thinner? Only positives have to be ox and giroud, big second half needed, get santi and podli on!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,483 ✭✭✭brianregan09

don't mind subbing the keeper , Sub the Ref he's lost

Booing the ref id imagine. Meh he deserves it :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,216 ✭✭✭Looper007

Good start then went downhill with the penalty. Wenger seriously needs questioning if we don't get the three points today. We have the easiest of starts to the season apart from the NLD game. Dropping points to Villa won't be making a statement.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,128 ✭✭✭✭Oranage2

    What a shocking ref.

All our mids have been poor, bring on Cazorla and Pod, we'll still play crap but we'll have a better chance of scoring.
