Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tackling and fighting for possession is dirty now?

Win today and Villa will be the new Stoke for some Arsenal fans.

No, muscled, it has always been Arsenal's problem, they seem to think football is a non contact sport.

Ah I see you generally get your football knowledge from the tabloids so.

If it waasn;t for Benteke he was Villa's player of the season last year. 2 of them off to a decent start!

Yeah grand, but it is still only one major incorrect decision in the game. People need to relax.

One major, about 20 minor adds up.

    Oh:o

I reckon the ref is a sure fire for that award this season

Brilliant play between Giroud and Roaicky there - great stop though keeper was very quick

Or from watching them play every week. They play cracking football sometimes but all too often they're knocked off the ball in physical battles all over the pitch.

    Arsenal self destruct......again.

Self destruct? Referee is having a howler.

Kos got himself sent off because he lost his rag and had a kick at someone. The ref didn't do that....the player did. IT's not all the refs fault.

Crossbar from Cazorla! what a save!

Haven't seen or heard much of El Ahmadi during this game, compared to Delph he's having very little impact

That was the case before if you watched this Arsenal team last year it did have its flaws but they were a lot tougher than they have been in previous seasons.

    Brilliant save .

A few debatable decisions but Arsenal have put themselves in a position to be undone by those decisions. Aside from the first 10 minutes, they've had no control over the game and they've been sloppy at the back.

    Save keeper.

    lovely play

save of the season from guzan just there from santi

The first one was never a yellow though or a peno. Ref is clueless should say goodbye to his career after this performance.

Yeah, but if you've been already booked regardless of its validity, you should be perhaps more careful..

Being behind probably suits Arsenal, much more effective when urgent attack is required.

Villa playing worse now that Arsenal are down to 10.

Same as ever, always up for it as underdogs but rabbits in headlights when they think they can win

Exactly, I'm not bashing them, I say the same about certain United players too.

The ref has made a few mistakes but definately a tough game to referee for anyone.

    Might aswell throw on Podolski.

Weimann and Benteke seem to have a pretty good understanding.

Benteke giving us nightmares. Taking over from drogba!

coulda been a Benteke hattrick there. Hard to believe we actually let Guzan's contract expire before last season, thank fook Lambert re-signed him

Been watching since the start, and I think he has made the game tough for himself. It's his fault there's as much as a bite to this game as there is. He was blowing up stupid stuff early on.

I think debatable. The first penalty is almost nailed on. The second penalty could go either way, he gets a touch on the ball but at the same time he has taken Gabby from behind with the slide tackle and the red card are two relatively straight forward yellow cards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,161 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

Benteke looking very hungry for a hat-trick bonus.

It couldn't go either way, its just the wrong decision, how can you even debate that?

He's made it a tough game mate. Noone but himself to blame, he's card happy.. Clearly out of his depth.

No it couldn't it was a terrific tackle. Bad refereeing decision.

The Arsenal players didnt help much either imo

It's hardly just me debating it. Setanta showed the tackle quite a few times from different angles and the commentators couldn't make a definitive decision. Like I said, he does get a touch on the ball but at the same time he does catch Gabby's legs from behind. Could have gone either way, thus it is debatable.
