Remember of course that the republican movement were actively encouraging a German invasion of Ireland. A few dead Jews/travellers/disabled people were the price they were prepared to pay to create their utopian socialist republic.

Sure, weren't the Nazis nationalists and socialists themselves?

Ah yes, as if Britain had some sort of moral superiority.

How many countries was Britain occupying at the time?

Who invaded Poland the same month as Germany? USSR, a country that Britain would ally itself with.

    Well played Britain.

I know revisionism is in vogue now but this is a whole different level of revisionism.

I suppose you'll be saying the Jews had it coming next as well.

Do you have any idea of what "revisionism" even means?

Why don't you point of anything I've said which isn't factually correct?

Because you can't and instead you start insinuating things about me that are untrue.

What about the millions of dead natives in the Americas, Australia and Africa?

A small price to pay for the glory of the civilising British Empire?

Seen as how you're talking about remembering things...

You're playing down the seriousness of what Germany did. You said Britain declared war on Germany without mentioning it was because Germany invaded Poland which is a pretty important reason for them to do so.

The way your painting it is that Britain were the aggressors.

What's all this so called "context"?

The Brits declared war, that automatically means they were the aggressors, you can't argue with fact, case closed!

Did you even bother to read my last post? Germany invaded Poland knowing Britain and France were obliged to defend it. They were the aggressors.

The context you are so wiling to dismiss is actually pretty important.

I have come to believe it means disagreeing with the republican viewpoint on history.

If you think Britain had the right to attack Germany over Poland, then you must think every other country had the right to declare war on Britain in 1939 given the lands that she was occupying all over the world.
So Britain shouldn't have declared war on Germany, is that what you're saying?

What right did Britain have to wage war on Germany when Britain was occupying vast tracts of the globe?

You're really starting to sound like a parody of an anti-British person now.

It's a shame does noble German didn't beat them in WW2 then.

So Britain were in the wrong?

Sounds to me like you are clutching at any straw you can to indulge in a bit of Brit bashing tbh.

    I wish I could say I'm surprised.

In the world of close protection, things only get left to chance when someone says leave things to chance. Have a goo at the Queens close protection squad and ask yourself, would the papps run her off the road? No? Yeah, no. If a blind eye is turned to Royal protection, and a lapse occurrs, someone turned off the cameras for a bit..
Diana decided that she didn't want Royal protection about the time she decided 'to withdraw' from public life. Ironically, she would probably be alive today if she hadn't made that decision.

It's funny how laid back people are about this, I'd have thought there would be uproar at the suggestion that she'd been murdered by the Military(which I reckon she was:)) - she might not have been so well loved after all. "Murdered was she? Ah well.."
Nah I'd say it's just that people are tired of the conspiracy theories, and lots don't see a conspiracy theory but a couple trying to escape the paparazzi and their driver being pissed and unfit to drive.

You would say that but where were you on the night of 31st August 1997?

    Yeah, "Femme_Fatale", it's all fitting together now.:pac:
