Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Barca. La Masia. Messi. Tiki Taka.

    f6f.gif

That should see it over last year's total of 980 posts alone I reckon.

Decent start for Athletic, hope they will stay out of trouble this season :)

I caught Valencia vs Malaga last night and though both clubs have lost so many big names it's a testament to both clubs and Spain's production line that they continue to produce so many incredibly talented young players capable of delivering a game of very good quality like last night.

    Valencia deservedly won 1-0 btw.

    No.

He expected to be in the starting XI though, did he?

Not straight away, he hasn't had a full preseason, hasn't been playing long enough in the team to be effective tactically.

He'll get 30 mins I think, but to be honest we have to keep Alexis, Pedro, and Tello happy too. I think Messi might be rested a little more this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Wow, vintage Barcelona goal. Xavi and Fabregas practically telepathic, handing it to Sanchez on a plate.

    2-0 Messi

    ^^ see above

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

And Messi's account is open. Busquets with the eagle eye pass, Pedro typically unselfish and the great man slots it home. 2-0, it's been an impressive start.

Barca are taking the piss here.

Barcelona are very good at football. That Messi lad is a serious prospect.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Barca's pressing so much more aggressive than much of what we saw last season. Their movement of the ball typically sublime.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

A goal that justifies what Tata Martino has brought back to Barcelona. Instant, aggressive pressing, winning the ball back near Levante's box, Fabregas does well and Alves has no problem putting the ball in the net. 3-0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭miralize

Busquets having more of an Alonso role so far. Pinging it out to the wings perfectly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,557 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Barca look great. Levante look absolute piss. With those 2 combined this could be double figures. Like actually.

Gerry Armstrong is hard to listen to

My fingers can barely keep up with Barcelona's goal scoring. Messi's vision beyond this world, Pedro'a confident start to the game rewarded with a goal.

Barcelona working so hard, my excitement is palpable.

    Absolutely fantastic pressure

    Garcia's pressing is ridiculous!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

5-0, Messi penalty. Not a single goal short of what they deserve.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,791 ✭✭✭✭JPA

    6 goals, 6 scorers.

An exhibition of football, art and genius. Barcelona's philosophy on a podium in this half. Xavi to Fabregas, Fabregas to Xavi and Xavi scores. 6-0, 5 different goalscorers, the pressing is back, it could be a really great season to come.

To be fair, that 6th goal is as good as it gets. A fine example of tiki taka.

Any change to how the tv money is split this season or is most of it going to the big 2 as in previous years anyone know?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Well this is the predictable AiG wankfest.

They're good, we get it.

Yeah it was great, Barca have been unbelievable. I wasn't disagreeing with the general opinion of your post, but the wording was beyond cringe.

    And here comes Neymar.

Messi has now resorted to knocking opponents out by hitting them in the head with his shots

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,791 ✭✭✭✭JPA

Messi subbed, the rarest of things in the past.

Selfless stuff from Fabregas, 7-0 with Pedro

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

7-0. Crazy Levante freekick gifts Pedro a goal, courtesy of Fabregas (who else?)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Fabregas out to make a point today alright.

lol at the people who wrote this Barca team off after that defeat to Bayern.
All they needed was a rest .

It's one game, nothing has been proven yet.

Let's see how they fare in the bigger games.

    Definitely impressive though.

No Messi, a side exhausted, a side robbed of their manager for a few months, and a side that perhaps were not as motivated as they have been in the past.

This season, add in Neymar, a revitalised Fabregas and most importantly the pressing that was so important under Pep and I think you might get a very different result.

I'm a little biased here because I've a fondness for Carlo. Very much looking forward to seeing what he does with Madrid.
