Barca should send Willy some chocolates and champagne after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Have a feeling Atletico will regret that result.

    What a save from Caballero.

Popcorn at the ready lads. Atleti Barca games have been excellent all season what a perfect way to decide the title!:D

Crazy last couple of weeks in La Liga. None of the sides going for the title have won their matches:eek:

Sets it up fantastically for next week really. Two cup finals in a row for Atleti.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,536 Mod ✭✭✭✭Amirani

That was some finish there at the end. Fair play to both Malaga, Elche and Celta in fairness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭klose

Amazing the amount of points the top 3 have dropped recently, maddness! Huge game next week its all set up nicely, think atleti will do it personally.

Both Alteti and Barca should have won. They really should have! Instead they made it tense and exciting all the way to the finish. Great stuff. :D

Elche haven't lost at home in 2014. Amazing record!

Unbelievable finish to an unbelievable season, you couldn't script this it's so good. Though I am bitterly disappointed, a fantastic chance tonight for Barcelona to take control of the league not taken. A few of those players on the pitch tonight may not be wearing the blaugrana after this season.

Caballero's save at the end vs Atletico was stunning and crucial.

The chance is there on Sunday for Barcelona to cause the upset, collectively the players must rally and muster one final great effort that befits the legacy of this great group of players.

Barca v Atleti will be on Saturday at 18:00. Live on Sky.

    5pm UK time no?

will the game be allowed to be screened live because of the FA Cup Final?

Don't see why not - 3 to 5.15 on Saturdays whilst the league is on is the only 'blackout' I've heard off. And the blackout is to protect 'Crewe v Doncaster' type games, not the likes of the FA Cup Final which is a sellout.

Having said that, its a shame theres a clash. Surprised at the Spanish kickoff time, thought they'd go for a more prime time 8pm slot (which would also help their South American audience).

None of the top 3 seemed to want to win it this year.

Some shocking results these last few weeks. Fair play to their opponents for putting it up to them.

Apologies, I must have heard the Spanish time.

Will that still be the case even though there are no games being played in England? I wouldn't have thought so.

Why does the FA Cup final have to be a 5:15 kickoff rather than a traditional 3pm?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,216 ✭✭✭Looper007

Why does the FA Cup final have to be a 5:15 kickoff rather than a traditional 3pm?

ITV and The FA supposedly wanted it changed so they could pull in bigger crowds really as simple as that.

I thought the La Liga games weren't on till Sunday?

Google search say Sunday 18th May at 5pm

Hasn't been 3pm for a couple of years now.

The La Liga times had been provisional. The times get changed a lot over there, which makes it very frustrating when making travel arrangements. :P

Yeah, I know the FA Cup games had been at 5:15 the past couple of years, I'd been wondering why they'd decided to change it in the first place. Initially thought it may have been because it was played on the same day as some PL games. Looper's explanation clears it up though.

Worst Barca side in years according to Mourinho. Made final of Copa del Rey -lost narrowly. Lost to eventual Champions League finalists - but should still have won first leg. Could still yet win La Liga.

And they've been considering sacking their manager for more than half a season!

Man Utd apparently didn't consider sacking Moyes until February. Funny game this, soccer.

You can see him have trouble changing direction at the end as the inertia from his gigantic balls kept his momentum going left.

Most entertaining goalkeeper of the season!

C'mon Atletico. One more game, all you need is a draw.

Woolshed would be decent as well

+1 for woolshed, always gets a massive crowd and the food is yum.

Big count down for next weekend. TBH I can't see Atletico losing.

Will the first fifteen minutes be shown?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Unless I saw wrong, the coverage starts at 4.30, so presumably they will show the start of the game. Id imagine the 3pm-5.15 thing is just for the regular league season?

How long did it take to find "ç" when you were making that post? Was length of time it took to get the pronounced C worth it on a pretentious level? Do you think it had the desired effect in the attempt to say "Yo, I'm down with my Catalan homies"?

I'd be more concerned with his blatant lie that bookies aren't taking bets on Barcelona.

    Maybe the local one...

1.83 to win on bet365, Atletico are 4.50

  • Must check the odds on A. Madrid to do the double, worth a few pound me thinks.

PP have barca 4/5 to win the league but 5/6 to win the game!? Am I missing something?

more people backing them to win the league, more people backing atletico to win the match. bookies' odds are based on a combination of things, rather than just likelihood of something transpiring. It's why odds come down after a big bet or ten on things like next manager

Yes but they are the same bet so same odds should be offered.

They probably were at 8pm Sunday, but more people have made one bet over the other.
