Sorry lads but is it me or is psychiatric nursing in UL not down at all? :/

Is the course title psychiatric nursing? There's something called Mental Health nursing at 425. Course titles change though, check the course code against the one on your CAO?

Guessed as much, couldn't see what the difference between psychiatric nursing and mental health nursing would be. :)

    "Sort of".

But not really. My second choice is Economics and German, which was 490 last year. There's no way of figuring out from that, unless there actually is.

EDIT: When I'm saying "my", I'm actually here with someone else who wants to know. I did my LC a few years ago, but I just thought it made more sense to use my until I thought that anyone reading my other posts would think I'm a complete liar :D

I think the way TSM works is that you get in with the points required for the higher of your choices, and the table gives various ranges depending on which combos have been allowed/selected.

For example, anything with Psychology would be 580, and that's why most of the ranges go to 580. The ones that don't, eg Russian either can't be combined with Psychology or didn't have an applicant choose that combo. 535 is top for lots of subjects, because that is the minimum for English Lit. So Psychology and English would be 580, but English and say Russian would be 535. Russian and say Theology would be 435.

So Economics and German should be random selection at 495 - I think..

But how did you figure that out? I mean... I know how to figure out last years points from Trinity's own document. But all the Irish Times has published are point ranges as in this post:

Hold on, though... I think what you said might make sense... but I'm not so sure if that's how it's done. We'll see in about an hour anyway.

DN500 is 340? ... or is that a specific course with its own CAO code? Can't see it as one anyway.

I reckon it has to be. if you look at maths, it's got the narrowest range, 575-580. So that has to be either with Psychology, or with anything else. The top ranges are only either 580, 575, or 535. German doesn't go to 580, so no one is doing it with Psychology, but if you want it with maths its 575.

But as you said, we'll know soon. Time for a cuppa...

I think I've calmed down about not getting enough for my first two. I'm glad I had a few hours to think about it before getting my offer. I probably would have done something stupid like declining m third choice in a tantrum. haha

There's always another way, even if it takes a little bit longer. (:
