Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ISP from another EU country

Does anyone know if it is possible for police in one EU state to request police in another EU state to provide ISP data of someone residing in that state?

The reason I ask is that I think someone in Ireland used my bank details, name and address in Germany to subscribe to online media.

It's possible, but what warrants etc would be required and how much effort the two police forces are going to go to is not within the scope of my experience, I'm afraid.

I would pursue this through your bank's fraudulent transaction procedure, if you have not already.

My guess is they won't be bothered as the only thing that happened was some subscriptions were made but no cost was incurred due to me cancelling during the trial period. I was just wondering if the German state prosecutor got an Irish ISP and requested the details of the owner of this ISP would that in fact be possible. As you said, this may well be a lot of effort and they may not bother going through with it.

All they can do is request cross-border cooperation, but they are unlikely to do so for such a petty offense.

Why did you "[cancel] during the trial period"?

You really need to flag this with your bank as fraud.

I did not want to be subscribed to these magazines. What this person did was subscribe me to magazine delivery which put me to the trouble of cancelling after I noticed I was receiving these.
