Great. Completed the game on 360 but never played online, just bought it at the weekend for xb1. Have no idea what I am doing.

Head to the Player Index at the top of the GTA forum and add people who are on xbox one, will make it easier to join up with crew members online. Online is best when there are crew shenanigans going on.

I just added you there through my Smartglass.
I'm normally online after work for 2 to 3 hours, sometimes longer.
Usually with a friend and some other Boards members if they are available.

You might need to go through the initiation but its very quick and painless.
At the moment we are trying to agree on a level for it to start at, I think its Level 5 at the moment

Dont think so, not that I am aware of anyway.

Only time I am able to see what Crew Members are online are when I am starting a mission and I go to invite Crew Members then select the option to pic individual members.

Like Max said, it's easier finding people on freinds list as there is a Friends tab in the game options. You can try using the 'Join Crew Members' option when starting Online from Single Player mode but if you're having trouble finding people, might be easier to add them as friends.

You can check in the pause menu, online/crews/mycrews/view members or something like that.
But it's not great though, just a list of online/offline crew members and I'm not sure if you can join crew members sessions through that menu. I'll check later.

At least with the friendlists (on ps4 menu) you can see if someone is playing single player, gta online freeroam , a heist or racing etc.
