Tinny sound from internal speakers

so I bought a new laptop yesterday and just sat down to watch last night's breaking bad and the sound is v tinny - just wondering if there's anything I can do to sort it, or do I just have to live with it

Other than that, it's a stonking yoke - I hate windows 8 so I'm getting an IT friend to put 7 on it for me

2. Have you tried external speakers or headphones?

A good pair of external/desktop speakers is the way to go. You're not going to get top quality audio from a Laptop with those specs tbh. You can get good quality Creative speakers for reasonably cheap too.

As for Windows 8, you can use Start8 ($5) or Classic Shell (free) to get a proper Start Menu and disable hot-corners, and TinyWindowsBorders to reduce the size and padding of the title bars. I use Start8 and TinyWindowsBorders myself, very handy.
