This is my first summer in my new house and I have, what I believe are plum trees. But they are quite elongated, almost pear shape( they're not pears though)

The house is quite old so it could be an old variety. Any thoughts? Also, might be a stupid question, but are these edible?

Trying to attach photo but can't on mobile. Will try tomirrow

I know I know. iPhone isn't letting me upload a photo when I hit attach files for some reason

I'm also finding it difficult to get the right angle ;)

They look like mango fruit to me OP, mangos have stones in the middle like plums, but an elongated body like pears -

Definitely look like plums to me - fine good size etc - some look ripe enough. They should be excellent to eat but i wouldn't be an expert on variety. If it's a very old tree they could be "cooking"/bitter plums -- but one quick bite of a ripe one will tell you that. :)

you can see the stone inside this one.

tried a semi ripe piece and it didnt seem overly bitter, considering its not fully ripe

    Thanks lottpaul, very exciting alright.

Going to see if I can find some more on what variety it could be now. It doesn't to be one that iv ever seen in shops before
