I agree... unless.. KK is only an incremental release (well it kinda is anyway), but perhaps it's not going to be much bigger than ICS to JB.

Still can't see KK coming along with anything other than the new Nexus line up

On the contrary, building hype. Although, there is a rumour floating (with fairly concrete legs) that Nexus and KK release have been delayed as a result of the US Government shut down - delaying final FCC certification, although that would suggest a delay in manufacturing, but the shut down only lasted a couple of weeks, so manufacturing being that late in the day wouldn't be a good sign anyway.

Even if it does launch soon what difference does it make? We still don't be able to get it. Laughable as if you buy a device from the English PlayStore it shipsvfrom here I think... Here's hoping anyway.

i dont think its shipped from here. its coming from england. just the offices are here. you can get it if you jump through all the hoops and ship to pm.

Oh. Maybe then. I really wanted a Nexus 4 but could never get one, instead I'm stuck with an iphone 5...
I really want to get the Nexus 5.

Has anyone any experience with the nexus4 or lg phones in general?
I'm specifically wondering what the build quality is like?

I've had my trusty s2 for donkeys and am only in the market for something new as I'll soon be using the s2 as my work phone..

LG quality is top notch, only downside they normally have is the UI overlay, but this being a Nexus you will have no issues there

it will be night and day compared to your s2, but i wouldnt believe it will deliver in all areas eg camera

When the device is finally launched in the UK play store, will we be able to use the nexus ordering process via flubit as set out in the sticky post in this forum to order the nexus 5?

Definitely the all black version for me. The wait for this phone since losing my Nexus 4 in September has been torture. Hopefully we finally get a release date this week!

Are the shortcut icons at the bottom of the home screen customisable or are they hard-coded to remain as the default shown?

Hard coded, though some roms let you customise them.

While that's true, amazon will stock it at some stage but probably not for a while after its out if the N4 on there is anything to go by.

Think he's referring to the Phone / Messaging etc icons which are drag and drop swappabble. I can customize the Back / Home / Apps icons in CM10.

Looks like that event last week was an actual event maybe with an NDA (non disclosure agreement), seems through a few sources that stocks have arrived to various outlets. a screenshot of carphone wharehouses system has been leaked and also EE saying they expected them on the 28th (today) things are hotting up, plus google execs adding to the mix if you check out their G+ pages
