any boffins explain to me how the internet manages to block content?

for example there was an incident involving pop concert.
this ended up in a police investigation.

if i use the internet to search for the incident all the material is gone.

ive no interest in that concert or anything about it.

im interested to know how the internet works , how can things be blocked or taken down.

who is in control of that? who makes the decisions and who hits the delete button?

is it a localized thing through say an irish ip address?

is getting me thinking that a stupid incident has all material taken down in a matter of hours.
    what about sensitive government information?
so if material is banned or moderated then the internet is actually another form of controlled media and not a source of all information without censorship?

i dont know too much about it but i was always believing that the internet had everything ever posted online?
so its controlled? who moderates the internet and hows that work?
