Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. I reckon at the start of the second hour.
Basically, the first scene (If I recall correctly) was Roy shouting at a bus driver about being late/too early.

There was actually a short scene before this, where Calum is confronting Sarah in the Platt's house. You'll notice the change in tempo anyway, everything seemed to move that little bit quicker

That hole was supposed to be backfilled, no decent builder would leave it like that, just covered with an inch of concrete. *Sigh

Anyone notice that when they were mixing cement in the back garden you could see out to the street, i.e. the garage had totally disappeared.

    What does that mean backfilled?

yeah but the actor's leaving, and so I'm guessing he wants to leave permanently

He didn't want to leave. He needed more time off (to film Red Dwarf) and that eejit Stuart Blackburn decided he had enough time off over the years, so they wrote him out permanently. I'd like to see him back into it again in a few years - from Red Dwarf to Robot Wars to Takeshi's Castle I'm a big fan of Craig Charles and the Steve/Lloyd friendship is always great. Hayley Tammadon (Andrea) didn't want to leave either, so maybe a few years down the line they could bring the two of them back into the show.

Gail (speaking about Sarah and Callum and whether they stayed in touch) 'Absolutely not, the man's dead to her' and David's face when she said it. :)

That was my favourite part of the episode. David always gets great lines, but his reactions and facial expressions are even better.

Is it just me or has Kylie gotten hotter now that she's killed someone?

Simply to refill the hole so that it's not a hollow space underneath the floor.

Carla and Roy are priceless gems. Love them.

    +1.

I loved when Roy went to see Carla, tonight, and she told him to stop using words like 'process', about starting a new relationship.
Roy's face when she said to him about his cardigan... :D Absolute class, both of them.

so I suppose because they are not doing the job properly, they will have to end up digging up the concrete at a later stage therefore finding Callum. Maybe that's one of the story lines.

Gail's bed could see a bit of 'action' in a couple of months time and fall through the floor!:D

Such a ridiculous ending the Callum storyline. As mb1975 says, it' just a repeat of the Fiz storyline
It would have far better if Callum's body had been in the back of his car when it blew up. We'll probably be subjected to months of silly Gail complaining of spooky feelings everytime she uses her new taps !
David has been brilliant and been given some great lines ' How many bricks does it take to bury a drug pusher - Hang on while I google it' :D:D
Love the scenes between Roy and Carla

I'd imagine it'll definitely be smellable within a couple weeks at the very latest, as far as I know it takes a couple of weeks for the real stank to kick in.

ya when you would lift that hatch to where his body is, the smell would probably be unreal, yet they dont even have to cover their faces.

Presumably the manhole was there for some reason originally?? I wouldn't think it was there for fun. And now it is been covered over with cement.

Probably just to fit in with this story I'd say.

The manhole is part of the old factory drains which are disused.
Callums body would be smelling just yet

Who's in the carpet? I cant remember. That was back when Coronation Street was worth having on in the evening not the mush they serve these days anyway.

Was her name Charlotte? Think she was a teacher & Stape murdered her because she knew he was pretending to be someone else so that he could continue teaching.

I don't think so. If I remember correctly, John killed Charlotte in the episode of the tram crash (also live) when Fiz was off in labour.

I think he then heard the explosion and dumped her body, hoping people would think that she died from the explosion.

    Think this is Colin Fishwick?

I think you're right it's Colin Fishwick. I just looked it up (it was bugging me) and Charlotte helped John dispose of the body it the factory.

Surely Callum's body would be decaying and smelling. Also Gary did a very bad job by not cementing the hole and not filling in the hollow , what's the betting Gail eventually falls throughout the layer of concrete in the hole only to be greeted by Callum's rotting corpse, thus traumatising her forever :D

As said upthread, it would have been a much better ending, to have had the body in the boot, and the car blowing up, with Tony and Todd unaware of the body being there.
The thought of the body being under the house is a bit creepy, not to mention that it will start to decay, and so on. It would have been a good twist that the body was destroyed, in the explosion, and the Platts finding out afterwards, what happened to the car.

There would still be the storyline of the Platts trying to get over what happened. David and Kylie would cope okay, I think. David had some good lines on Friday night. Sarah, at last, has a credible part to play, and she is doing it well.

A couple of weeks back, Tony discussed with Gail that the manhole could be covered over but the best option was a more expensive backfill job.
I m pretty sure Gail agreed that it should be filled.
Did Tony not relay his clients request to the rest of the manforce?? Cowboys:D

maybe they are doing it on purpose to fit a story line around it so the floor will have to be dug up because they job wasn't done right in the first place and maybe that's how callum will be found.

No, she's in Milan. David paid for the fare to get her out of the way for a while.

He must get paid a lot of money for being a crimper.

Didn't he borrow the money from loan sharks to pay off Callum? However surely he'd want to pay them back as they are a bit more expensive than Wonga.com with the interest so he must be bonkers giving the chinless wonder the wonga to go off to Milan.

Seems David will have to do a lot of overtime to repay his debts. He bunged Gemma(?) £20 for a taxi fare.

Yeah, very true, he is playing a blinder, and sensibly, in the circumstances..

Sarah is a ticking time bomb, she is going to spill the beans surely?

The ending scene was good, had a bit of 'Usual Suspects' about it, as though Sarah and Kylie were in a police line-up.

The film Sally was bawling her eyes out to was, 'Who Will Love My Children ', in case anyone ever fancies a day on the sofa with a bottle of wine.
