OH FFS another innocent person getting banged up for a crime they didn't commit, I love how they can find so much evidence on an innocent person to charge them every time in soaps and when they do ever or eventually arrest the real culprit they always seem to get out early. Why does ever single soap have to go down the same story line, Bang up an innocent person first and then later on bang up the real person. Easterners have just done it with 2 people now we have to bare it in Corrie.

Time to get the "Free the Weatherfield One" t-shirts out from the mothballs so.

Saying that, you'd still miss Deirdre.

    This is brilliant.

When Kevin met Sally. So old!

She was alright looking back in the day(understatement). She still is though to be fair.

Kevin looks the same only better facial hair arrangement.

Ryan Thomas who plays Jason quits Coronation Street

I wonder it is connected to working with his ex Tina (Sarah Louise)

Were Jason and Sarah Louise being put together again as a couple

I think reality tv awaits Ryan not Hollywood

Enjoyed that clip. Sally's little pretensions nowadays, always make me smile, because I remember that Hilda didn't approve of her, at first, as a girlfriend for Kev, because of her background.

He has no say in the business, Carla's contract is with Aidan. It's a civil/criminal matter between Aidan and his Dad as to how he got the money, but its no business of Carla's. As said above, another story that's full of holes.

Yeah, got that impression alright. Kevin was the typical single bloke at a wedding looking to ride something/anything. They don't suit each other IMO.

The closing credits had Sally as 'Sally Metcalf', wonder when was the last time she wasn't 'Sally Webster'.

That was quick - having 'Sally Metcalf' in the credits! Poor Gennie in 'Emmerdale' - she was never given the Sharma name. Even her name on her headstone is Gennie Walker. Always bugs me! :(

Coming across that video of Sally's first scenes prompted me to look through some other characters' first episodes.

Here's a few that are worth a look:

Lloyd (weird to see him smoking in the pub)

    Roy

Alison King - when she first played Mrs Fanshaw rather than Carla Connor

    Jason

    Eileen

Anne Kirkbride was a very good looking woman at 40. Mental that that was 20 years ago.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,707 ✭✭✭whatismyname

A few more (I promise I'll stop clogging up the thread now)

    Hayley

    Steve

Carla (with more of Sally's snobbiness)

    Faye (so cute!)

    Deirdre

Love watching old clips, like that. Thanks for these.

I'd say a few small parts in Hollywood, Holby City x1 then Celebrity Masterchef 2017. :D

I'd imagine that he'd need a bit of the old grey matter to appear on Celebrity Masterchef.

Some people said she knew he was under the concrete but as I said before she was told he was in the canal and would freak if she knew his body was under there, if David and Kylie put his phone in the canal like they said they did then that will probably now be found

Maybe there's a river that flows beneath the manhole that leads to the canal and he was carried away with the flow.

Now there's an idea !! That would be brilliant. Although he'd hardly float if he's covered in cement :D

    I don't know why you'd think that.

I also don't know what makes you think he doesn't have, as you put it, grey matter.

Is the reason the area above the man hole is damp, is because they didn't back fill it?

Ya because another poster here said yo have to backfill a manhole and all Gary did was throw the cement down on top of it and I was thinking that they did it on purpose and not do the job properly so they would have to go away and dig up the floor. :):)

I thought when that manhole conveniently appeared, shortly before the live episode that Tony said they would have to backfill it.
Ugh, I wish they were just rid of Callum, at this stage.

Ah I must have missed that bit. I thought they poured cement down the manhole and then covered the lid. Feckin cowboy builders !!

How the hell is cement still dripping wet after a week ? There's no way Tony would leave it like that now, as a builder he'd have it dug up within a few minutes, it's barely two inches of concrete.

Sarah ran out the door to tell the cops and Kylie just stood there looking at her. FFS. It's at the level of a cheap Brazilian telenovela.

I think the body will be found and Jason will take the rap for her, he still has feelings for her, also leaves him open to return.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,060 ✭✭✭Jikashi

They might as well farce it up. David and Kylie get Callum out and string him up "Weekend at Bernie's" style. Walk him down to the court and sign adoption papers for Max, then dangle him in front of Jason during the night. Jason will attack, easily defeating the surprisingly quiet and squishy Callum. David and Kylie leave and Jason hands himself in for accidently killing Callum, with neither him nor the cops being too bright to see that Callum shouldn't be quite that colour and consistency so soon.

Jason gets written out true to character, the Platts move on as a somewhat normal family, and we all get a good old comedy routine with Callum's actor redeeming himself playing a blinder as a decaying corpse, the role he practised for for months hanging his jaw open the whole time.

I had to laugh at the writing last night, I think it was Sean, Beth and Sinead talking about Fizz and Hope.

"I wish there was something we could do."
    *sigh* "Me too."
"Maybe we should think of something?"

    I mean. Come on.

Out of the blue, Kirky tells us the height above sea level of the factory floor. This is either a red herring to fool the credulous, or a device to explain the appearance of Callum's body in the Manchester Ship Canal. Other than that, he wasn't dead and made good his escape, and will reappear to disrupt the Platt household for another few months. I can't see the sight of his rotting corpse being dragged out of the hole before the watershed.

I don't think if David and Co. came clean to Tony about what was causing the dampness, there would be any great issue. Backfill it in and back to normal.

I had the exact same thought. I was willing Kylie to tell him, and I reckon he would sort things out without a murmur.

Not only would it not be a big deal, it would actually be a good idea. Tony would take care of the body better than the Platts have.

Yeah, but they have probably being watching Eastenders and taking tips from them on how to avoid a situation where the whole community knows the truth about a murder except the police :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,006 ✭✭✭MistyCheese

I hope they're the only ones taking tips from EastEnders and Camp Callum doesn't re-emerge from the Afterlife!
