And the scene of Ken at the church
rowing with Tracey! :( I'm actually feeling sorry for her during all of this. How much respect did Ken show for Deirdre by talking during the service?

The irony in that Scene was strong. Ken couldn't keep his pants on for very long in their relationship either, broke Deirdre's heart. Deirdre was no angel either, but most of her affairs were as a reaction to Ken.

Anyway, I'm glad Tracey had a few choice words spoken to her, it was about time. Funerals are strange things, we almost had a huge blazing row at my own mothers funeral, but we decided to soak it up and stay quiet for the couple of hours.

I said it a few weeks ago, if they split
    Tim & Sally up
I'm giving up watching after 37 years (minus the ones I was abroad). They have a chemistry between them that's rare on the Street. I know
Kevin is the love of Sally's life
and vice versa but its a short term storyline that will just end in tears.

I thought the funeral scenes were done well. I imagine a lot of the tears were real.

I was half expecting to see him drunk somewhere with Carla until I saw her in the casino. I love how after a few days the lad working the table in the casino knows her by name

Edit: Maybe with his background as a bookmaker he can give her a few tips..

Same here. Am close to stopping watching anyway.

I agree funerals, like any family occasion can mean emotions running high, but I've seen real life situations where families hold it together, for the duration of the funeral, out of respect for the deceased person.
I can understand Ken fretting about why Deirdre stayed away for so long, but I think it's a rubbish last minute storyline that Deirdre felt unable to face Liz, because of Tracy having an affair with Tony.
Just another plot driven, overdone drama. Liz has already moved on to her next man

Yes, I'd say the tears were genuine. Did not think much of Ken's behaviour towards Tracey during the service, though!

I liked what Maria and Audrey wore to the church, very elegant and appropriate. Who could forget Michelle and Carla at another funeral (cannot remember whose)? I was quite shocked really! They looked like they were going out for a night on the pull!! :(

And Ken was making moves towards Audrey. ;) Thought it was quite tacky of the writers to have Bev show antagonism towards Audrey just after the funeral - 'she just wants to get at his money'!! Are
they setting up a storyline where the women will be competing for his favours?? If so, I Will definitely be fast forwarding through those scenes!! :(

Yes, I think it was Carla and Rob's mother's funeral.

That was probably a dig to do with their history with Fred Eliot.
Fred collapsed and died at Audrey's house, on what should have been his and Bev's wedding day, and I guess Bev hasn't forgiven Audrey for the fact that he was there.

I agree, I couldn't cope with women fighting over Ken. I'm cringing through scenes of Gail gazing jealously at Eileen and Michael together, as it is.

Was not aware of that detail as I was not watching Corrie then. Does not make Bev's comment so ridiculous hearing that.

I already use the FF button for Gail and Michael scenes!! :)

Has Tracey shown any remorse that she killed 3 people

    Charlie Stubbs
    Kal Nazir

Tracey only thinks about herself always has, she's a narcissist.

Speaking of which, when is the truth going to come.out?? I would have thought that the investigation would conclude where in the flat the fire started and Carla would remember that that wasn't where the candle was left?? The whole thing is dragging on so long now I wonder how they're going to expose Tracey?? Of course, they may not, but everyone knows the viewers like justice.

I think Carla has accepted it was her fault so no more investigation

Unless Tracy confesses no one will ever know I think

Would she have been on cctv entering the building?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,194 ✭✭✭jos28

Would she have been on cctv entering the building?

I mentioned that at the time. It seems ridiculous that cctv wasn't checked. You'd imagine the scriptwriters wouldn't miss an opportunity to milk that storyline for all it's worth. I really hope Tracy is exposed(and not just as an extremely bad actor :D). Maybe that's where the animosity with Ken is heading.

I thought the Church-scene with them carrying 'Deirdre's coffin' was badly done. They held it high like nothing was inside. I know nothing was actually inside but they couldn't even act like they were carrying a body to the altar.

I was one of the pallbearers for my own Late Loving Dads funeral and can still feel the pain on my shoulder. No way was I carrying my section with just the tips of my fingers that's for sure.
You can find immense strength when needed by focusing and knowing this will only be done once
, but here in this scene, the fact that the actors could not even act right just annoyed me!
No effort was made to what they were supposedly acting out.

The only issue I had with this,

Have to admit it's unfair picking on Tracey, Peter & Ken were just as bad

they are just re-enforcing the stereotype of it's ok for lads to be lads but when a woman does the same thing it's not ok.

That final scene with Ken turning off the light would have been so lovely if it had been just 10-20 seconds longer. As it was, it felt very jarring and rushed straight after the scene of the women laughing in the pub.

No, ken is hurt and just lashing out directly at tracy. He could have had a few weeks with Dierdre if she didnt do what she did. 'Lads being lads' stereotype didnt even come into it. He wouldnt have thought about his affairs bar tracy brought them up which is why he left.

Was Peter in Norway like Lloyd on a fishing boat that he couldn't make the funeral or even call or text anyone

As Tracy said he could have came back sooner not just for the funeral service which he missed and is his mobile phone not working

Peter giving Tracy parenting advice was a bit rich

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,934 ✭✭✭✭fin12

Peter is looking gorgeous but hes excuse for missing the funeral absolutely lame. You would think the minute he heard the news he would come up and if there was delays on the trains, he could have taken buses, taxi's to get to the funeral.
