Senior cert :) I'm hoping to take on 2/3 people in September- if I take on anymore I might end up having to drop them in leaving cert and that wouldn't be fair to them...:(

    Thanks but no :L
The pieces are only a small bit more difficult than grade eight...if you learn a difficult piece (something like clair de lune maybe) in between doing the grade eight and the senior cert the senior cert pieces are very manageable.

The scales on the other hand are a nightmare! I used to give out about the scales for grade eight...the senior cert ones are soooo muh worse!

Not sure about the theory because I haven't looked at it but I think it is mostly similar to grade eight with a few new things (like knowing how the piano works :L)

What pieces are you doing for your grade eight?

The more I think about it, the more I'm convincing myself that I did bad. I won't be able to enjoy the start of TY with the results looming but I think I've done well.

Think I'm going to go to Kinsale. The nerves probably won't hit me until the day of results. Well probably have to wait until the end of the day fir them  people said it was really annoying last night when teachers kept on congratulating them before they got their results... Knowing our luck, our school will have organised a 10 mile walk for the following day like last year:(

Ya the time kinds changes depending how long its taken them to get the results ready but its always around 9:30. I'd be so nervous if I had to wait till 3:30 you'd just be sitting there all day thinking about them.

That sounds like something my teachers would do if we had to wait ages for results. Is there any reason they make you wait till 3:30.

It could be because past students used to run back inside the school after getting the results banging lockers and screaming "I passed" hahahah

Ya we get our results at 3 o clock and we go home at 3.15! Our teachers like to keep us on the edge of our seats all day :D

We used to give ours out before small break in the morning, so that they would be gone before the rest of the school came down for the break.

Yep, I've been told that TY really brings you out of your shell/gives you more confidence. But look on the bright side, you'll be finished school and we'll be preparing for the leaving cert :(

You get what you put in to TY. It's different in that if you sit around waiting for things to happen (or the teachers to 'do something Ken!') they won't.

Suggest things, research trips and costs, initiate ideas among yourselves. That's part of the point of it and if you do that you'll have a great experience.

The Ty's of 2011 and 2012 in our school did loads; Sports teams, debating teams, young scientist, young enterprise competitions, mini-companies etc. They were always doing something. Really enthusiastic bunch that got on with the teachers like a house on fire.

Last years TY's were a completely different kettle of fish. The majority of them had no motivation to do anything. There was no debating team, enterprise teams, or half-decent mini-companies. Very little sports happening on their part either.

Our business teacher (also a TY co-ordinator) really started to get fed up with TY's landing at her classroom door during our business class on a Monday morning (in fact, most mornings of the week) looking for permission slips to go downtown and "lodge/withdraw money for the mini-company" and other "productive" things Hang around the town and frequent the coffee shops

But some of the students in my year have great intentions to make TY what it was like before, engaging and busy; always having something to do. We have a petition of interest for the re-ignition of the debating team and hopefully get the help of the PE teacher to start a lads' basketball team, if we're lucky
