Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They have developed into one of the most dangerous front lines in the League. Jut need to start keeping clean sheets now.

Nice one Brana but we absolutely don't deserve the win here, Villa have been excellent.

A very Drogba-like shield-and-turn shot from Lukaku there.

Absolute joke of a decision. The ref bottled that. Mourinho fear factor comes into play.

Very poor overall , 3 shots on target from 15 is pretty poor. Draw would have been fair .

    Win's a Win though :)

Very good performance from Villa even though it ends in defeat.
If Villa can play with that intensity every game they can beat anyone, although that intensity will be difficult to maintain.

A lot of shockong decissions by Kevin Friend but to be fair Villa had 2 fantastic chances through Wieman and should have taken it out of the hands of the ref.

Jaysus the contrast between the decisions tonight and the decisions vs Arsenal. Evens out for Villa I guess..

Worst refereeing performance at Stamford Bridge since Tom Henning Øvrebø?

Villa were hard done by against Arsenal with Schezny and Koscielny not being sent off.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,866 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Ivanovic may have been offside and maybe should have been sent off, Villa should have had a penalty too but at the final whistle Chelsea got the three points so far play to you guys that win could turn out to be invaluable even if you didnt preform as you'd like. Obviously Villa will feel hard done by but they can hold their heads up high and be proud of that performance

Each wasn't a sending off, please look at the rules.

Wasn't deserved, wasn't pretty, Villa have every right to feel hard done by that they didn't get at least a point out of it tonight... But the football gods decided it was Chelsea's night.

Ivanovic: I've seen players sent off for far less. Fair enough, Benteke made a proper banquet out of it, but depending on the referee, Ivanovic could easily have walked there. Then he pops up with that absolute beast of a header and secures the three points.

I thought sure both Weimann and Lukaku had scored with their respective chances and both were sinfully unlucky not to. Weimann moreso; a foot or so to the left or right and Cech was beaten and left on his arse. No question.

Ba once again showed why he should not be anything more than a player for the earliest rounds of the League Cup and the FA Cup. He should never start a Premier League game for Chelsea. Lukaku looked lively, dangerous and was so unlucky not to score. Torres was not spectacular against Hull, but he provided good hold up, passing and link up play. Ba did nothing tonight except get caught offside and mean more work for other players. Ship him out ASAP.

While I was disappointed that KDB didn't get a look in tonight, this is probably saving him for Sunday.

This is Mourinho all over; it will never be spectacular, but it will nearly always result in 3 points. Do enough to win, and nothing more. It is not good to look at, at times, but if it means trophies nobody will complain (Chelsea fans anyway).

Sunday... Bloody Sunday... Huge game in store. Cannot wait for it! :D
