    Hi

We are new in town, really enjoy live music and would now like to be able to take 14 year old daughter to odd pub gig with us. Up for anything from new kids, to cover, to trad to funk etc....but not sure what the rules are for bringing her along and where might be good? Am making her come to waterboys in Dec:D...but looking for something in the meantime - starting this weekend!

    THanks folks

It's generally illegal for a child of that age to be in a pub after 9pm, 10pm in the summer.

Your options are limited I'm afraid to non pub events.

Edit: Keep an eye on the local free newspapers for non pub events.

Not sure how you feel about Jazz but the Kings Head used to have gigs during the day on a Sunday which Ive been to with younger family members. Was a bit of craic. They might have other genres at other times through out the week.

Just have a look around, a lot of pubs have live music.

You will get early evening trad sessions at weekends that they can legally attend.

Tigh Coili often have trad sessions about 5pm or so. If you guys don't drink there's often country pub sessions and they're not as strict (still, a 14yo in a pub after 9 is probably not ideal anyway).
