Clearing Forestry

    Can you forestry be cleared and returned to farm land or doees it have to always remain as a forest and be replanted if cleared?

    Not easy to do if over 10 years planted . They will want an equal area planted some where

    If its cleared before the grant is finished you will have to.repay every penny, its not worth it to be honest, more money in timber these days

    Just wondering how long do they usually run for? Can you clear once gone over the time say 15 years

    Theoretically, yes.
    As the intention is to NOT replant, you'd be applying for a Limited Felling Licence, and it'd then be down to the decision of the Forestry Service.

    Do you mean if the trees are 15 years old and it was the non farmer rate which is 15 years ?
