Phone Not Charging When OFF

    Hi,

    My phone running android 4.1.1 has suddenly decided to stop charging when turnd off.

    It charges ok when on but if you turn it off and plug the wall charger in to it you get the animated battery charging icture and the red light comes on but in the morning the phone is not charged and the battery is more depleted than when i plugged it in.

    I know its not a bg problem and i can put it in airplane mode and charge it overnight but i like to have everything working normally and also wonder if it could be the start of a bigger issue or just an errant app causing the problem.

    Any help would be great,

    What kind of phone is it?

    Could your USB port have picked up a knock maybe whilst your phone was charging?

    An app would not cause a phone not to charge from what I have seen but stranger things have happened... :-)

    Hi

    Its an xperia s . The cable is ok and I only really charge it from a wall charger. I have tried other chargers to rule out a faulty one but none work.

    Really annoying little problem.

    sounds like possibly a faulty battery
