Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey guys, can anyone help me get this working? I'm told you can get the new Horizon box to stream movies from your pc. I already do this as I have shared some folders on the network.
I hear I need twonky but I know nothing about it. Is there a step by step guide to getting this working?

    Any help appreciated thanks

All you need is any dlna media server software installed
Some are great some are not try different Media Server software that suits your needs best
You can use Twonky if you want (You don't have to use Twonky ) there are other options

    Google Media Server Software
Some are free and some are paid versions

Note Windows Media Player itself has streaming and is part of Windows and works on Horizon Fully
To get MKV files to play install VLC Player on your PC

Also great bit of software is Shark007 Codec to enable Windows Media Player to play all video formats

    Windows Media Player
    Stream
Auto Allow Devices to play my media
    Videos/Music/Photos
Add Folders to your Windows Media Player Library using video/music/photos

Windows Media Player will show up Horizon library my devices

    Very Important part
Horizon Network DO NOT LET Horizon Scan for media files Don't ever do this

Only use My devices in Horizon Library and browse by folders

Windows media player absolutely SUCKS monkeys for media sharing as it doesn't pass through the folder structure so if you have an organised media library, this isnt a good option IMHO

I Use Tversity but Horizon doesnt like it at all, doesnt find anything I share. Ive tried Plex and, while it has a huge following, I cant understand why as it was absoutly horrible to setup.

I havent used twonky but have heard some good things about it so it may be a pretty good option.

One thing I have to say though is Start by Turning OFF your windows firewall or norton/symantec/mcafee or whatever is protecting your PC. Get the media streaming and turn these on and see if it breaks it. Its mad frustrating actually having everything working perfectly in theory and your firewall blocking it unbeknownst to you.

Windows Media Player does pass through the folder structure
    I use it on Horizon
The Folders of My Videos show perfect in Horizon library my devices the same folders as is on my hard drives 100% shows folders

    Install Sharky007 Codec
It Plays Perfect all video formats if you install Sharky007 Codec 32bit first install them install 64bit
