I'd love to get a game in at the Artemio Franchi someday. It's a very unique venue in this day and age.

And the speed of Cuadrado for their 4th

Most interesting (if not entertaining) league going at the minute I'd say

Milan are on a slip, Roma are just un-fucking-real, Napoli are still going strong without Cavani.
And by jesus them two games at the weekend were just amazing.

Find it far more interesting than the PL or La Liga(even though Milan are doing woeful). Roma/Napoli, Fiorentina/Juve & Torino/Inter were all great games. Milan/Udinese was quite poor tbh but 3/4 is pretty good.

Having watched Both games this weekend, And watched West Ham v Man City and Aston Villa v Spurs, i found Serie A alot more entertaining this weekend.

Napoli - Torino is a joke. Napoli have been given two of the softest penalties you will ever see and are 2-0.

btw - is their entrance music usually Go West by The Pet Shop Boys?!

Roma. Down to 10 men for the last 25 minutes and score a winner with less than 10 minutes to go away to Udinese.

9 wins out of 9! 23 scored and 1 conceded, ridiculous start.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Unbelievable. Definitely proven they can dig out results in the last couple of games.

Roma are crazy. Garcia is doing an amazing job there. They have a good but not spectacular squad.

    Píss off Roma
Sick of them winning every bloody week!

    Klose does it again.

Lazio with no ideas up front, he comes on and within 10 minutes he scores and gets a penalty.

That was Udinese's first home loss in over a year

VERY strong midfield(De Rossi, Strootman & Pjanic), the in form Centre half in Europe(Benatia) and both Gervinho & Totti in great form. Not that bad.

Big game tonight in Florence tonight. Jose Callèjon has just given Napoli the lead with a superb volley from a Higuain cross.

Who in the blue hell is Hoakeen, I heard of Joaquin but never this other lad.
    Soft enough peno btw.
    Clinical by Napoli

Never a penalty. An exaggerated dive by Savic. Great move and finish for Mertens goal just now. It's an intriguing game.

Important win for Napoli, Roma should take Chievo easy tomorrow night. Florence is a difficult place to go these days, they did turn over Juventus there only last week. Joaquin shows no sign of slowing down at 32 years of age, himself and Valero were good tonight. Two excellent goals, Mertens is really starting to prove his worth, he was a constant danger on the break. Callejon's finish was special. Napoli defended well throughout, despite La Viola's huffing and puffing. Maggio was my MOM, despite his sending off. So many times he got in last second clearances and was always in the right place for crosses into the box. Thought the ref got the red cards spot on, especially Cuodrado's. Blatant cheating. Despite that, the guy had a good game and was a real pest.

What, the second "dive" yellow for Cuadrado was a clear penalty. How did you miss the contact in that?

You're telling me that a small tap on Cuadrado's shins by Inler was forceful enough to have him trip up like that?! No chance! He was 100% looking for the penalty and went down far too easily.

And he should have been given it. It was a penalty no matter what way you look at it. Inler put a leg across and made contact. Penalty.

Are you serious? Look at Inler's leg, try running at a leg stretched out like that, it's not like Inler's leg has some swiveling system in place that automatically shoots back when touched. There is resistance. Most likely enough to trip him up too, but definitely to slow him down, and there's only one player to fault here in the end. Inler.
I'm impartial here, and I know how being partial works when Juve are in question for me, but come on dude...the ball is even fully in play for Cuadrado, there's just the leg of Inler between them.

Pirlo goes to 2nd on the list by himself for most direct free kick goals in Serie A in the last 30 years

    Sinisa Mihajlovic - 28
    Andrea Pirlo - 23
    Alessandro Del Piero - 22
    Roberto Baggio - 20
    Gianfranco Zola - 20

There is a compilation waiting to be made. Shocked Del Piero has only 22, fantastic with a dead ball.
Roma vs Chievo tonite, form wise this is the banker in your accumulator.

Its really sad to see how much Ac Milan have fallen, gone are the days of world class players, now a host of below than average players

Have to feel sorry for Allegri now, he's bound to get fired.

If by "sad" you mean "brilliant" or "hilarious" then I agree

I don't think the drop has been as big as people believe. The quality of the team is still higher than that of teams that are being praised in other leagues like Liverpool, Marseille etc. and any team in the CL who isgoing to get out of a group containing Barca is not that weak.

A poor run of form for a team that has the ability (albeit not the money) to seriously regain form.

Roma machine at it again, 1-0. Dominating Torino.

Torino will find it difficult to get a goal here, they look like they've no plan except total counter attack

Roma turned to crap in the second half, looks like the 100% record is going. Still, some achievement.

You would never get this type of entertainment in the Premier League ...

Genoa last night insisted that a coach caught spying on local rivals Sampdoria while dressed in full camouflage gear was "acting entirely alone".

Luca De Pra, a youth team coach for the Serie A side, was found hiding in a bush at Sampdoria's training ground ahead of today's derby match, and was immediately suspended by his club.

Genoa said in a statement: "No director or member of the coaching staff sent Luca De Pra to watch the training session at Bogliasco. It was a personal initiative. This has never been done before and is not part of the club's modus operandi. The club makes it known that De Pra has been suspended with immediate effect pending further explanations."

Gazzetta Dello Sport reported that Sampdoria fans at the training session alerted staff after spotting movement in the small woodland area next to the pitch. Two members of staff gave chase and later found the intruder hiding behind a tree, dressed in full military attire. A popular figure in the city and the grandson of Giovanni De Pra, the club's finest ever goalkeeper, he was immediately recognised.

Sampdoria said in a statement: "That the derby is a question of nerve, tactics and strategy we already knew, but frankly we could never expect that it could turn into a scene of espionage.

"Like Rambo hidden among the branches on the hill, Luca De Pra, Genoa goalkeeping coach and man of noble footballing ancestry, failed to overcome Sampdoria's intelligence and counter intelligence operations.

"However, no prisoners were taken, and no blood was shed. Once tracked down and caught red-handed, the opposing side's soldier was let free to return to base. You should always forgive your enemies, as nothing annoys them more."

Zanetti just came on for Inter to come back from the achilles injury he suffered in April, great to see him on the pitch again, when you consider his age that injury could have ended his career.

Just helped set up Inter's second goal with a classy turn and run.

Yeah, he played well for the 10 mins or so he was on. It's great to have him back but I'm not sure he'll start too much with Jonathan playing well this season.

Juventus: Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Isla, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente

Napoli: Reina; Maggio, Fernandez, Albiol, Armero; Inler, Behrami; Callejon, Hamsik, Insigne; Higuain

Even bigger game this after the Roma result earlier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Mertens a little unlucky to be dropped I feel.

Some strike by Pogba. It was going to take a lot to beat Pirlo's effort, but he's managed it!

Napoli had been slowly finding a way back into it before Pirlo's strike.

A real sense of normal order being restored across Europe today.

    Brilliant finish from Pogba, 3-0.

Milan still have a long way to go in this "rebuilding" project. Matri and Poli certainly aren't the way to do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,941 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Do Milan have the money to rebuild a team?
