DFS / Carpetright - don't believe their "discounts"

FINALLY, the UK office of fair trading is taking a hardline with false advertising of furniture stores.

In a report out last week naming DFS, Carpertright and 4 others (SCS, Harveys furniture (not to be confused with harvey norman) Dreams and Furniture Village)

They determined that "after event prices" were FALSE and MISLEADING and bore no resemblance to the normal retail prices.

"Officials at the OFT said they had found widespread mis-use of promotional campaigns and added that when monitoring the chains, only 5 per cent of sales were ever made at a higher price referenced in ads. "

So if you are visiting carpetright or DFS (or the others as some trade in NI) - just DON'T believe the rubbish pretend discounts.

Better still go to an honest retailer.
