Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Newly-promoted Cardiff City didn't enjoy their first taste of life in the Premier League, going down 2-0 away at West Ham last weekend. Their baptism of fire continues at home to Manchester City on Sunday, in a game that could be entirely one-sided. City romped to a 4-0 win in their opening game against Newcastle United, looking immediately comfortable under their new manager. Cardiff lie 19th in the table while City are 5th.

    Cardiff City injuries and suspensions:
Out: None. In doubt: Andreas Cornelius (ankle).

    Manchester City injuries and suspensions:
Out: Vincent Kompany (groin). In doubt: Matija Nastasić (ankle), Micah Richards (hamstring) and Stevan Jovetić (knock).

    Projected lineups:

Cardiff City (4-4-3): David Marshall; Declan John, Ben Turner, Steven Caulker, Matthew Connolly; Craig Bellamy, Peter Whittingham, Gary Medel, Bo-Kyung Kim, Aron Gunnarsson; Andreas Cornelius

Manchester City(4-3-3): Joe Hart; Gaël Clichy, Joleon Lescott, Matija Nastasić, Pablo Zabaleta; Fernandinho, Yaya Touré; David Silva, Sergio Agüero, Jesús Navas; Edin Džeko

    Betting: Home 13-2, Away 2-5, Draw 7-2.

    Prediction: Cardiff 0-3 Man City

    No Jovetic on the bench?

City to stroll to victory by a few with one from Dzeko, Silva and Toure winning MOTM.

Didn't expect Nastasic to start, too soon. Need Javi to really settle down early or else we're sure to concede.

Man City bench : Pantilimon, Kolarov, Nastasic, Milner, Nasri, Rodwell, Negredo

Massive difference in attitude between Cardiff and Newcastle.

Expect the result to be similar though

Fraizer Campbell falls a bit theatrically at Fernandinho's legs.

Cardiff using the 10-0-0 formation I see.

Joe Hart is fairly poor there

How come Cardiff are not wearing the official Premier League names/numbers on their kit?

Didn't they change from blue to red? They still have a kit in anyways. Its the 3rd.

Cardiff owner wearing the jersey over a shirt. Questionable.

Really thought City would be at least 2 goals up by now

I counted 9 red jerseys in the Cardiff box there when Nevas hit his cross. It could be a long afternoon trying to break these down.

As I said, playing very well at the moment, gotta hope they can keep it up for 90 minutes, a lapse and City are good enough to capitalise

Cardiff can't chase the ball forever, need to keep patient passing around.

In all honesty, no, they had most of the ball but I think maybe one shot on target from Silva from about 25 yards that was straight into the keepers hands

Just need to be a bit quicker in the build up play, we are giving Cardiff too much time to get back. They probably deserved their equalizer tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Negredo's a great sub to have. Always thought we'd have to score two, with our central defense today. Shame it was a poxy goal.

City need to spend another 100 million or so

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

    Milner coming on
