    Hi All,

Can anyone recommend any recent batman story arcs that would be worth a read?

The Court of Owls and Death of the Family arcs by Scott Snyder have been good.

Hush, The Dark Knight Returns, Year One and The Long Hallowe'en are all excellent.

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

Disagree, I thought the Death of the Family was awful!

    This.

If you're new to Batman, the arcs mentioned by The Person assume you know who Nightwing and Damian Wayne are etc. Dark Knight Returns, Year One, Long Halloween require no previous knowledge whatsoever. Three absolute classics, there.

Year 1 and The Dark Knight Returns are awesome, and often considered the best. I think Hush is overrated. Haven't read the Long Halloween as far as I remember, but have heard that it is excellent. Grant Morrison's run on Batman and Robin is more recent and is great. It features Nightwing and Damian Wayne, though I think it is self-explanatory really whom they are in this case; which isn't true in Hush. Not sure this is a spoiler in any way but:
Nightwing takes the role of Batman, and Damian the role of Robin for the story.
