Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

KFC seek permission to open in Arklow.

    I see Herbel Eastern Ireland Ltd which holds the franchise for KFC in Ireland have requested planning permission for a drivethru in the Tesco Carpark in Arklow. Whatever about the health aspects of the food, it will be a good jobs boost for the town.

    ARKLOW TOWN COUNCIL We, Herbel Eastern (Ireland) Limited, intend to apply for planning permission for development on a 0.29 ha. site at the Tesco carpark, R772 Wexford Road, Arklow Town, Co. Wicklow. The proposed development comprises the construction of a single storey Drive Through restaurant (6.125 m. maximum height and totalling 257.8 sq.m. gross) with an ancillary enclosed yard of 55 sq.m. as well as an associated Drive Through lane. The proposed development also includes signage areas on the elevations of the building, a 6 m. illuminated totem sign, 26 no. car parking spaces, associated vehicular signage and all ancillary site development, site services and landscaping works. The planning application may be inspected or purchased at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at the offices of Arklow Town Council, Avoca River House, North Quay, Arklow, Co. Wicklow during its public opening hours and a submission or observation in relation to the application may be made to the Authority in writing on payment of the prescribed fee within the period of 5 weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the Authority of the application.
