Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Every now and again you might experience problems using an iPod as it may freeze and the screen will turn blue.
Simply hold down the button at the top right hand side (on button) and the button at the bottom of the screen.
Do this for about a minute simultaneously, you will then notice your iPod switches off, just switch it on and everything will be back to normal again.

This works for all iOS devices and is called a hard reboot.

Where does all the names come out of? Soft reboot, hard reboot. Apple just call it a reset

I suppose by comparing them to PC's soft is just a software/IOS reload and hard would be a complete reset of the hardware too. Wiki explains it better http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reboot_%28computing%29#Cold_vs._warm_reboot

When I worked up in Apple we called it a clean install. Then one moron told a customer to do a "vanilla install" - a term we had never used. All of a sudden the Tech Support in Apple were all asking what a Vanilla install was.... There is always some numpty that can't use the correct terminology.......like calling an iPod Touch an iTouch......:(

A soft reboot is where you shut down normally, so in the case of iOS, holding down the power button and sliding to power off. A hard reboot is exactly what you described; it doesn't do any of the shut down processes and just turns off.
