I forgot to say: this is a drinking game. I get to drink every time someone posts a new accent and every time some gets the accent right. You can have a drink too if you want.

    Slainte.

PS: I was worried about drinking alone but a trusted boards friend assures me it isn't really 'alone' if I am having a conversation with my boards friends.

I was umpiring a cricket match a few years back involving a team from Donemana. That's exactly how they spoke. I couldn't understand a single word that they said - first time ever that an Irish accent has defeated me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,118 ✭✭✭✭Annasopra

    Ayuh.

    Urban dictionary says Maine

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I actually heard one of my neighbours visitors use this one when he called to there house a couple of weeks ago. He was only a young lad in his mid 20's, I was shocked and horrified, although this is Clare so can't expect much else I suppose:D
